5 Sneaky Ways To Incorporate The Outdoors Into Your Everyday Life

Between work, relationships, family and friends, it can be hard to schedule in time to be outside. The world we live in now seems to be moving faster. People move quicker to get where they have to be, instead of taking time to breathe. If you work a 9-5 office job, I’m sure you want to get home instead of going for a run outside once you leave the office. Here are 5 simple and sneaky ways you can get outside more.

Drink your morning coffee outside
Set your alarm 15 minutes early so you can enjoy your morning cup of brew outside on your porch, in your backyard, or on your front lawn. If you dedicate this time every morning, not only will you start your day with a calm state of mind, but you’ll also be soaking in Vitamin D. This is a great way to have some me-time before your busy day gets started by breathing in crisp, fresh air. If you’re waking up before 6:30am, you may miss out on sun benefits, but you’ll still get to enjoy the crisp air.

Don’t take transportation
Instead of cramming up on a bus with a bunch of strangers, buy a bike. You’ll be able to enjoy the fresh air before and after work. It won’t impact your schedule at all because it’s just a new way to commute to work. After doing this for a few weeks, your body will start to crave it, and it will be your new norm. You can get a reasonably priced bike online that’s in good condition. Start browsing!

Take your lunch break outside
It’s so easy to pack a lunch, eat it in your office, and let the time escape. Instead, go outside and enjoy your lunch on a bench, or a nearby park. Maybe your work has a balcony! One way you can make sure you go out on your lunch break is get a coworker involved. You two could eat your food, then go for a walk before heading back into the office. This way, both of you can motivate each other to get some fresh air!

Pick restaurants with a patio
If you’re planning on meeting a friend for lunch and it’s a beautiful day out go to a restaurant with a patio. This is a great way to kill two birds with one stone. You’ll be able to catch up with your friend, and the sun! If you two want to do something else for a change, have a picnic instead. Simple, right?

Bring your hobby outside
If you have a hobby that you usually do inside, try doing it outside instead. You can knit, crochet, write, draw or read underneath the sun. This won’t interfere with your schedule because you can do this in your backyard, and it’ll leave you feeling good. It’s nice to change up the scenery once in a while.

Take advantage of the beautiful outside world. If you are serious about making these simple changes to get yourself outside more, you’ll have to make them a priority. Once you start practicing these for a few weeks, it’ll become a daily habit for you!

What do you do to make sure you get outside everyday?
