I have heard horror stories from people who have gotten eyelash extensions. Plus, they don’t last long.. A close friend of mine got eyelash extensions, and they only lasted for two weeks! Of course they looked fab, but in my opinion, it’s a waste of money. Fake eyelashes are another popular option. However, I used to have naturally long lashes, and fakes did some damage to them. I should have realized because think about the chemicals in the glue that is going on your skin.
If you’re like me and want to avoid toxic glues, and quick fixes, here are 3 ways to grow your eyelashes naturally!
Castor Oil. This stuff is amazing for growing and thickening your eyelashes! It also prevents your lashes from breaking. Before putting the oil on your eyelashes, make sure they are makeup free! When they are, all you have to do is put two drops on each eye to cover your eyelashes. Make sure you’re doing this a few times a week, preferably before bed. Leave it on for the night, and remove the oil from your eyelashes when you wake up! By the way, put some on your eyebrows too! It helps with hair growth.
Coconut oil and lavender essential oil. This is a DIY recipe. All you need is ½ a teaspoon of coconut oil, and 3 drops of lavender essential oil. Put this mixture on your eyelashes before bed, and wash it off in the morning. The lavender will increase your lash growth, and the oil will sooth them!
Olive oil. If you want thick and long dark eyelashes this one is for you! The oil is rich in vitamin E, and oleic acid which will nourish and add volume to your beautiful lashes. Before going to bed, put the oil on your lashes and leave it on overnight. Wash it off in the morning with lukewarm water. Make sure to do this every night for at least two months and you’ll get the desired result.
Whichever method you use, make sure to do it 2 to 3 times a week for a year. Keep in mind eating healthy plays a huge factor. Just like your hair, your eyelashes need a good supply of vitamins and minerals to grow, so make sure you are eating plenty of vegetables and fruit.
