The 5 Best Homemade Face Masks

I was taught at a very young age how important it is to take care of your skin. My mom has always said taking care of your skin early on, sets you up for better skin later on in life! It’s important that we take care of our youthful skin now rather than trying to recapture it after years of damage. I have learned to go the homemade route on facial masks to keep my skin youthful. They work just as good as masks at the spa, but they don’t hurt our wallets.

Hydrating Avocado Mask.
½ of a ripe avocado
1 teaspoon of plain organic yogurt
1 teaspoon of honey

If you have spent all day outside, this is the mask for you! It’s great for stressed-out skin. Mash all the ingredients together and leave it on your face for ten minutes. Hint: If you are in dire need of hydration mix in two teaspoons of virgin olive oil.

Exfoliating Brown Sugar Scrub Mask.
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of coconut oil

How easy does this mask sound to you? It’s an easy go-to for your face in the morning before you put makeup on. The brown sugar fights away dead skin, while the oil gives moisture. Mix both the ingredients together and scrub it on your face with warm water. Let it sit for at least three minutes before washing it off!

Redness-Reducing Oatmeal Mask.
2 tablespoons of raw oats
1 teaspoon of honey
½ of a banana

Oats have amazing soothing powers! Honey is great too because it relieves inflamed skin. This mask will be your new go-to on the days you forget to put on your sunscreen.  All you have to do is mash all the ingredients together and keep it on your face for ten minutes!

Pore Tightening Yogurt Mask.
1 teaspoon of plain yogurt
¼ juice from a slice of orange
1 teaspoon of aloe vera

This mask will help cleanse your skin and tighten your pores. Mix the ingredients together and leave it on your face for at least five minutes!

Wrinkle-Smoothing Wine Mask.
¼ cup of red wine
¼ cup of kaolin clay
2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil
1 tablespoon of oat flour

This lovely face mask will help repair the damage caused by sun exposure that can lead to wrinkles. This facial does everything! It moisturizes, hydrates, exfoliates and draws out impurities. Just combine all the ingredients together and keep it on your face for ten minutes!

It’s important to make the time to pamper your face with all-natural face masks! It doesn’t hurt to show your skin a little TLC. You don’t need to empty your wallet to get the facial you deserve. Most of these ingredients can be found in your kitchen cabinet, which is a major plus! Now, go put on a face mask and let it take away your stress. What’s your favourite homemade face mask recipe?
